Be Still

I look into the other room
Just like I'm looking out in space
I see potential energy
A radiance in your face

I know that you don't see me
Your gaze is turned the other way
It's like the nearest galaxy
60,000 light years away

How do we know we're breathing?
How do we know we're sane?
How do we know our hearts are pumping the blood into our brains?

Freedom is how we choose to view the things we see
We can't understand the things we view until we choose to still our minds

Be Still

A part of me is hoping that
You'll turn your attention my way
Only so that I can distract
Your mind from being so far away

I want your world to open up
But you control your destiny
You make everything you are
Design your possibilities

How do we know we're sleeping?
Or know that we're awake?
That being aware of being aware is good for it's own sake?

Freedom is how we choose to view the things we see
We can't understand the things we view until we choose to still our minds

Be Still
