Lavender Girl

I love to see you in the morning
When the sun shines through your hair and lightens up your smile
I want to bathe with you in summer
Feel the sand beneath our feet while hand in hand you walk with me

Welcome to my kingdom
My lavender girl

I have a place out in the country
Where you can smell the sweet grass and the lavender bloom
I want to take you there springtime
Feel the softness of your skin admire the world we lie within

Welcome to my kingdom
My lavender girl

Darker clouds have threatened me
To take away the sunshine and leave me in the rain
But I know history shows, everything in life that grows
Also finds a way to end returning back to grow again

I have a place I call tomorrow
Its just like yesterday but everything is new
And if we make it thru the winter
Growing like the wild rye we'll simply let the past go by
