Monterey

I been driving around in circles, up and down some road
I been looking for a party, I ain't even sure that I want to go
I gotta premonition this ain't where I'm supposed to be
So I'm heading down that mountain, gotta get me closer to the sea

I'm on my way to Montery to chill and have a beer
I've got a seaside place to stay with someone I hold dear in Monterey

Its the weekend of Laguna Seca and there must be 7,000 bikes in town
Everybody's got their gear on and the cars are really bumping sound
The thing that's so amusing is that this is usually a low key place
And cruising is the only thing to do when you're not sitting at the race

I'm on my way to Monterey to help my friend unpack
She just moved up from LA and I'm so glad to have her back in Monterey

I'm sitting in a grove of cypress trees, just playing and singing songs
Watching the motorcycles riding down a beach that's 5 miles long
Everyone's waving at me 'cos I gotta guitar and a groove
A local won the MotoGP and everybody's feeling smooth

I'm on my way to Monterey to listen to a reggae band
They're jamming in a biker bar where the queer boys used to dance in Monterey
